This weekend: Mathematica Tutorial
For the weekend, do the following:
- As usual, complete the reading for sections 12.3 and start the homework. Look over section 12.4 as well as we'll discuss it on Monday.
- Open Mathematica. From the menu, select Help, then Documentation Center. Scroll down to the link (near the bottom of the righthand column) that reads "First Five Minutes with Mathematica". Click on this and complete the short tutorial on entering commands into Mathematica.
- For a deeper introduction, see http://www.wolfram.com/broadcast/screencasts/handsonstart/. I recommend that you type out what is displayed on the screencast yourself so you can see how it works.
You will not turn anything in on Monday, but this should get you started with Mathematica so you'll be ready to go when we use it during the week.
