Every year the math department holds a weekly problem-solving contest. The first problem is at http://www.dean.usma.edu/math/activities/potw/problems09/problem0901.pdf, and the POTW website is at http://www.dean.usma.edu/math/activities/potw/ to get started. link to the webpage to get started.

Here are a few reasons to get involved:

- Learn some NEW mathematics… something you wouldn’t normally see in class.
- Get some BONUS POINTS.
**I will award 1-2 bonus points for each problem you submit to Dr. Moseman (1 for participation, 2 for a correct solution).**

Subject: Problem of the Week!

It’s that time of year again. It’s time to put on your math hats and do some fun math! It’s time for the Problem of the week! For those of you in the know, each year we put on a contest, primarily for cadets that are interested in mathematics. The website, and past problems, are at http://www.dean.usma.edu/math/activities/potw/. You are welcome to offer comments directly to me, and submit solutions! Good luck, and I hope we have many weeks of fun problems!
